- INDUSTRY
The Challenge
Hoover Materials initially sought to develop a limestone quarry near Nashville, Tennessee, but unexpectedly discovered a rich deposit of natural sand and gravel above the limestone.
This presented a unique opportunity to create the only sand and gravel processing site in the region, which required a turnkey plant capable of handling both limestone and sand products efficiently and sustainably.
“We chose Superior because we only wanted one source to go to from start to finish: during construction, installation, and for all the equipment service and support down the road.”
The Solution
To capitalize on this opportunity, Hoover Materials partnered with Superior Industries to design and construct a complete turnkey crushing, screening, washing, and classifying plant.
The plant was custom-engineered to meet the specific needs of the operation, with a focus on maximizing productivity, ensuring product specifications, and minimizing water and material waste.
The project included everything from plant design to installation, with Superior providing ongoing support and local service through their dealer, Belt Tech Industrial.
The Results
Since its commissioning, the Hoover Materials plant has exceeded expectations, delivering an estimated 350,000 tons of sand and gravel annually, along with a variety of crushed limestone products.
The plant's advanced technology ensures consistent product quality and efficient resource management. The turnkey plant has allowed Hoover Materials to maximize productivity and profitability while maintaining sustainability.
Tom House, the production manager, praised the smooth construction process and the strong partnership with Superior Industries, which contributed to the success of the project.
