The Challenge
Fred Weber, Inc., a leading contract crusher, needed a highly portable and customized crushing plant to tackle a three-year granite crushing project in the U.S. state of Colorado.
The project required a plant that flowed well between processes, plus machinery that could be set up quickly and was easily reconfigured for different job requirements.
“With most plants, certain components are outsourced to different manufacturers. If there’s a problem, you’re often referred to another party, and there’s a lot of finger-pointing. With Superior, there’s only one source to go to and they always have the solution for us.”
The Solution
Fred Weber partnered with Superior Industries to design and manufacture a spread of fully customized portable plants, tailored to meet the specific needs of the project.
The plant includes a hydraulic control house for optimal visibility and efficiency, automated feed control systems, and customizable screens for product flexibility. Superior also provided on-site support through setup, startup, and training, with the local dealer, Power Equipment Company, assisting in site preparation.
The Results
The customized plant has delivered outstanding performance, allowing Fred Weber to efficiently meet project demands while maintaining safety and productivity.
The plant's advanced automation, including Superior's Vantage® Automation, has streamlined operations, enabling easy control and flexibility. The ability to reconfigure the plant for future projects ensures long-term versatility and cost savings.
Steve Valle, the site’s general superintendent, praised the plant’s design and the strong support from Superior, emphasizing that the setup has been instrumental in keeping customers supplied with material safely and efficiently.
